Whānau sessions
Details
10.30-12.00 every Tuesday of term in the Brook Valley, Nelson.
We'd love to start a second wee group in the afternoons closer to Richmond! Please email if this could be for you.
Who?
Children aged 5-12, and their accompanying adult.
How much?
25$/session for each child. This helps cover costs but is intended to be accessible to families. Please let us know if this is a barrier to you attending.
Some children really benefit from having a calmer, more predictable pace, from being able to choose their own adventure, or from having their parents nearby. Maybe a full day outside with 10 other kids feels overwhelming!
After conversations with families who say that our other offerings aren't quite right for them, we are now tailoring a nature programme to these children.
We will be avoiding sitting and chatting as a whole group, rather the kids will be free to explore the area and activities. More in-depth social learning and general skills will happen during 1:1 connection moments.
It'll be an hour and a half each week, commitment to a whole term is preferred. It'll follow the regular school dates and have limited spaces, so please text or email us soon and we'll call back for a conversation about it.
Our holistic approach to education integrates outdoor free play and exploration, environmental stewardship, and hands-on learning. Children will be offered all activities that are available in our other programmes.
Parents are welcome to be present and be co-creators of how these sessions run.
