2026 planning: What's on? When? I'm excited!
As the next school year draws closer several of you are wondering about our dates, programmes…
Most of term 1 is ready to be shared! Read below
We will adjust the term 2-4 programmes based on whānau / school’s request as much as we can, though likely to continue as term 1.
But first, everyone is asking about holiday programmes!
My friends, as much as we thought we’d be doing them during this holiday period, it is the only opportunity for Elena to go to see her family in Spain!
So with one key player down, we’ve decided to just… rest. Spend time with our families too, maybe go to the beach?
We’ll be back at the end of January to offer these awesome workshops, as we did last year:
Natural dyes, whittling, building, exploring, foraging, rafts, investigating, developing our senses, nature music…
And all of those more intangible growth moments like noticing personal values, comfort zones, intrinsic motivation, confidence building…
From the 26th January to the 1st of February, something is on! Click here for more details:
What’s on in Term 1?
One Day every week
Every Wednesday in Marsden Valley
and every Thursday in the Brook Valley
same as this year. From 9am - 3pm we meet and spend quality time learning about ourselves, our peers and our environment in a simple, wholesome way.
Please see our “Weekly One Day School” site (under Journeys & Programmes) for all the info!
After school grounding
Every Tuesday in Marsden Valley
same as this year. From 3.15-4.45pm. Though we offer the same range of activities as in the full day programme, we’ve seen tamariki semi-obsess over exploring the natural space. Every week we find something new to engage our senses and our curiosity! A chance to reground after a busy day.
This is an intentionally small group, please contact us if it’s a bit of you!
Working with primary schools
Our Sport NZ funding will continue into term 1, supporting our friends from Auckland Point and Stoke Schools to come out and spend time with us.
We’re also still keen on supporting in-school mahi and school trips, which are generally tailored to what kaiako say would interest their students most.
NEW:
A small group for 4-6 year olds
We’ve been noticing how many parents would love a gentle transition into primary schools from kindy: A slightly shorter week and time to be adventuring in a play-based way.
However, we’re also seeing that mixing with confident 10 year olds in our other programmes isn’t really the answer either… So we’ll be opening our first group for wee ones.
From 9.00 (or 9.30) to 12.00. Led by Elena, we will welcome up to 5 tamariki to ensure quality time. Parents will be welcome to stay if they think that is best for their child.
Because these are new we’re finalising logistical details: Likely to be either on Tuesday or Friday mornings at Fairfield House.
If you’d like to pencil your enrolment or be a parent helper please contact us.
